The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari. The film is an adaptation and a soft reboot of the 1979 Lollywood film Maula Jatt. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. It is based on the characters and stories by Nasir Adeeb. The film stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and Mahira Khan. In the film, a local folk hero named Maula Jatt takes on his arch nemesis and the leader of a brutal clan, Noori Natt.

The producer, Ammara, has now revealed that the movie has surpassed over Rs401 crore worldwide. The producer shared a news report on her Instagram account that her magnum opus is still going strong, with massive box office earnings.

Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad (Rs: 150 crore)

Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is a 2022 Pakistani action comedy movie written by Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi, directed by Nabeel Qureshi, and produced by Mehdi Ali and Fizza Ali Meerza, under the banners of Filmwala Pictures. The film stars Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh and Mahira Khan with Nayyar Ejaz and Mehmood Aslam in an ensemble cast.

The film received mixed reviews from critics with criticism for its screenplay and praise for direction. It won Best Film (Viewers’ choice) at the 22nd Lux Style Awards.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani becomes the 2nd highest grossing Pakistani movie:

The Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat starrer has collected 22.6 crore PKR from domestic market and almost similar an amount of 21.95 crore PKR from overseas markets. Film has grossed 44.55 crore PKR worldwide till Sunday (24 July).

Teefa in Trouble (Rs: 105 crore)

Teefa in Trouble is a 2018 Pakistani romantic action comedy movie. The film is the directorial debut of Ahsan Rahim, who was previously known for directing music videos and television commercials, under his Tadpole Films banner. It stars Ali Zafar, Abdullah Solangi and Maya Ali, who also made their Pakistani movie debuts. It is also the debut film under Zafar’s banner Lightingale Productions.

The story revolves around Teefa, a witty middle-class Lahori boy who is raised by his mother after being orphaned by his father at a young age. Teefa is introduced to the world of crime by the shady business dealer and local gangster Butt Sahab, and due to his impoverished upbringing, money and power are all that matter to him.

The film trailer was released on 14 June 2018 across 1200 screens worldwide. The film released across 24 countries on 20 July, including some countries where this is the first Pakistani film, while in UAE on 19 July.

Teefa in Trouble becomes the 3rd highest grossing Pakistani movie:

While it remains on top among Pakistani films that released so far this year, it is also the 5th highest grossing film of 2018 (including Bollywood and Hollywood films) at the local box office. So far, Teefa in Trouble has raked in 22.31 crore in total, globally, and is expected to bag the fourth spot among highest grossing films.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 (Rs: 70 crore)

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 as JPNA 2, is a 2018 Pakistani Urdu-language romantic comedy film, directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Vasay Chaudhry. It is a joint venture of Salman Iqbal Films, Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib’s Six Sigma Plus, and Jerjees Seja’s ARY Films. It is sequel to the 2015 film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, and the second installment in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani film series. The cast includes Humayun Saeed, Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Uzma Khan and Sarwat Gillani all of whom reprise their roles from previous film, along with Fahad Mustafa, Kubra Khan, and Mawra Hocane who join the franchise.

The story set now settled into married life, Pervez and Sheikh jump at the chance to travel to Turkey with their wives to visit Pervez’s well-to-do brother-in-law, Rahat.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 becomes the 4th highest grossing Pakistani movie:

The multi-starrer romantic comedy, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which released worldwide on Eid ul Azha along with Nabeel Qureshi’s social satire Load Wedding and Haseeb Hassan’s air force film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, has taken a prominent lead at the box office, breaking all previous records.

In its third week, Nadeem Baig’s sequel to Jawani Phir Nahi Ani has raked in 36.12 crores in Pakistan and 14.71 crores overseas, making JPNA 2 the highest grossing Pakistani film that has collected a whopping total of 50 crores globally in just 18 days.

According to Box Office Detail, the rom-com raked in a total of 3.23 crores on its opening day and went on to collect approximately 23.23 crores in its first week, followed by 10.4 crores in week two.

London Nahi Jaunga (Rs: 55 crore)

London Nahi Jaunga is a 2022 Pakistani Urdu and Punjabi-language drama comedy movie, directed by Nadeem Baig, produced by Humayun Saeed under the banner of Six Sigma Plus, and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. It is a spin-off of the 2017 film Punjab Nahi Jaungi (lit. ’I won’t go to Punjab’). It stars Huamayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat alongside Sohail Ahmed, Kubra Khan, Asif Raza Mir and Saba Faisal in supporting roles.

The movie story set on Sara seems to have always had a full life on the surface, but she has always felt there is something out there that’s missing–until she stumbles upon her mother, Zara’s, diary. Her world does a 360 degree spin when she discovers that her hometown, London, is not where she has always belonged.

According to UK box office reports, Humayun Saeed-Mehwish Hayat starrer ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ hit £46,710 in its third week, exceeding the £43,688 ‘Shamshera’ collected in its first week. Written by Khalilur Rehman and directed by Nadeem Baig, ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ has been consistently ruling the box office since its release — including hitting the top 10 films at UK box office in the first week of its release and becoming the highest grossing Pakistani film in Australia this weekend. This Humayun Saeed blockbuster is successfully running in cinemas across Pakistan and worldwide currently.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi (Rs: 50 crore)

Punjab Nahi Jaungi is a 2017 Pakistani romantic comedy movie directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. It stars Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat alongside Sohail Ahmed, Saba Hameed ,and Urwa Hocane in pivotal roles. The story is about a love triangle between the lead characters, and also exhibits the Punjabi culture of Pakistan. A spin-off, titled London Nahi Jaunga, was released to mixed reviews in 2022.

Punjab Nahi Jaungi becomes the 6th highest grossing Pakistani movie:

Punjab Nahi Jaungi has become the first Pakistani movie to collect over Rs 50 crores from box office worldwide. With this record, it has also been named the highest grossing Pakistani movie yet. The previous record for highest collection was held by Vasay Chaudhry-directed Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (Rs: 49.44 crore)

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani as JPNA is a 2015 Pakistani adventure comedy movie directed by Nadeem Baig. It was co-produced by Humayun Saeed, Salman Iqbal and Shahzad Nasib at Saeed’s production house, Six Sigma Plus. It is the first installment in the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani movie series.

The movie stars Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry and Mehwish Hayat. The supporting cast includes Sohai Ali Abro, Jawed Sheikh, Ismail Tara, Bushra Ansari, Ayesha Khan, Sarwat Gillani and Uzma Khan. The film is about a single man who is a divorce lawyer. He takes his three married friends on a trip to help them escape their wives and the monotony of their lives.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani becomes the 7th highest grossing Pakistani movie:

The film had earned Rs 26.5 crores becoming the highest-grossing film in Pakistan. The film had grossed Rs 35.25 crores at the end of its third week, becoming the highest-grossing Pakistani film worldwide. The film ended its run by collecting Rs 34 crores locally, and Rs 15.44 crores from overseas with a total gross of Rs 49.44 crores the best earning Pakistani film to that date.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon (Rs: 44 crores)

Parwaaz Hai Junoon is a 2018 Pakistani aerial combat-war romantic movie, directed by Haseeb Hassan (in his directorial debut), produced by Momina Duraid and written by Farhat Ishtiaq. The film features an ensemble cast of Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Kubra Khan, Alamdar Khan, Marina Khan, Shamoon Abbasi, Adnan Jaffar, Shaz Khan, Shafaat Ali, and Mustafa Changazi in pivotal roles. Earlier, Osman Khalid Butt was also a part of the film but had to withdraw as the film’s shoot schedule clashed with his promotions for Balu Mahi. The movie is a tribute to Pakistan Air Force.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon becomes the 8th highest grossing Pakistani movie:

Parwaaz Hai Junoon opened to a good response on the first day of its release and managed to collect Rs. 1.79 crore despite massive clash at the local box office. The film also collected Rs. 34 lac Internationally, taking its first day total collection to Rs. 2.132 crores. Worldwide figures after two days were around Rs. 5.45 crore after collecting Rs. 2.66 crore and Rs. 66 lac from local box office and from overseas markets respectively on second day. On its third day of release, it grossed around Rs. 2.43 crores from Pakistan and Rs. 86 lac from international markets respectively, bringing the total nett collections to Rs. 8.74 crores. Film grossed Rs. 12.684 crores worldwide, after four days of its release. Film’s global nett gross after one week was around Rs. 18.18 crores. Within second week of release, it collected Rs. 21.11 crores at local box office, breaking the record of Teefa in Trouble and Punjab Nahi Jaungi of fastest to Rs. 200 crores locally. After ten days, It collected Rs. 28.12 crores at global box office. It collected Rs. 360.2 crore locally until the end of 2018. After its release in China in November 2020, the film collected US$248,000 there lifetime.

The Donkey King (Rs: 40.20 crore)

The Donkey King is a 2018 Pakistani animated comedy movie, directed by Aziz Jindani. The film features the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Jawed Sheikh. It was released in Pakistan on 13 October 2018 by Geo Films and Talisman Animation Studios. After its national success, it became the first Pakistani movie to be dubbed into ten languages for multiple international theatrical releases, distributed worldwide by Annalisa Zanierato, for Pantera movie.

It is currently Pakistan’s highest-grossing animated feature film ever, and also one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films overall.

The Donkey King becomes the 9th highest grossing Pakistani movie:

The film was listed as #9 blockbuster Pakistani film of 2018 by Mohammad Kamran Jawaid of Dawn. At local box office, it made Rs. 24.5 crore in 17 weeks, and Rs. 24.75 crore in lifetime 25 weeks.

As of 4 December 2021, the international gross of the film has crossed Rs. 20 crore, becoming second Pakistani film to do so after Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. The numbers include about Rs. 16 crore from China in two weeks only, leaving behind Parwaaz Hai Junoon’s box office gross from China.

Bin Roye (Rs: 40 crore)

Bin Roye is a 2015 Pakistani romantic drama movie directed by Momina Duraid and Shahzad Kashmiri. The movie is produced by Momina Duraid and stars Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Armeena Khan, Zeba Bakhtiar, Javed Sheikh and others. One of the movie’s songs is produced by Haissam Hussain.

Bin Roye is based on the original novel Bin Roye Ansoo by Farhat Ishtiaq. The movie was released worldwide on 18 July 2015, the day of Eid-ul-Fitr. Bin Roye was praised by the critics. It is the tenth-highest-grossing Pakistani movie. Bin Roye was later adapted into a television series with the same name, that premiered on Hum TV on 2 October 2016.

The movie collected 3.56 crores in its first week, 7 crores in its second week and 85 lacs in its third week from Pakistan. By the end of its run the movie had collected 11 crores approximately from Pakistan. Bin Roye grossed 8.5 crore at U.K. Box Office, 7.35 crores at U.A.E Box Office, 2.4 crores from US Box Office, 50 lacs from Australia and 25 lacs from India at the end of its third weekend. The movie had a huge business from the overseas markets due to its big release. According to BOD, the movie managed to earn 29.5 crores till third week worldwide.It did a lifetime collection of Rs 105.5 million locally and Rs 295.0 million from overseas, with a worldwide total of Rs 400.5 million.
